Team Work? No Thanks! by Peter Peterka

We might as well admit it: we hate working in a team.

Years ago when we still worked at corporate, we'd shrink in dismay at being assigned to a team to make certain changes in a policy or in a process. Our first reaction was always, "another traffic congestion in the making." To us, team work was synonymous to excessive yak-yak-yak, delays, unnecessary activity and frequent meetings with no meeting of the minds.

We're sure we're not the only ones who feel this way. Our dislike for team work was confirmed when we were downsized over two years ago. Instead of looking for another job, we decided to go it solo. Friends and family warned us of the dangers of being a solitary worker.

You know something? We proved them wrong. Solitary work was our passport to happiness. Perhaps it's the nature of our work, we don't know. But one thing was clear: going back to the workforce only to work in teams was out of the question. It's been over two years and there are certainly no regrets.

Caveat: what's right for us may not be right for others. Team work is still a value cherished by companies. Team work is a virtue and it does generate benefits. Team work brings out the best in people; it also serves as a filtering process for great and mediocre ideas. The idea behind team work is to combine the thinking and experiences of others and to fuel motivation and initiative.

There's strength in numbers, so the saying goes. So for those of you who like working in teams to carry out change, what makes for good team work?

Hail to the Chief!

The one thing that team leaders must be careful about is to NOT let teams waste time and resources. To do that, these measures are essential -

1. Let's be specific - it's fine to do a song and dance about goals and objectives but if they're too general, they run the risk of being unattainable or unrealistic. A bad goal is: let's cut costs on the factory floor. A good goal is: monitoring of expenses on the factory floor reveals that 23% of raw materials are wasted. Let's cut that down to 15% in three months.

2. Let's share the wealth - when team members agree to work on a project, they like to think that their efforts will be recognized and properly compensated for. This is true especially when workers are asked to take on additional work by sitting in a specially-formed committee and are still expected to do their own work with no decrease in productivity levels. While you can't promise fat bonuses or perks, assure team members that there are rewards waiting for those who contribute to the group effort.

3. Let's get some division of labor going - the role of team leader is obvious enough. A leader leads, supervises, and accepts responsibility for progress. What about the members? A structure - it doesn't have to be an org chart - and a definition and assignment of roles are required. Who will take care of monitoring factory workers, who will inspect raw materials, who will look after machine maintenance, who will do the statistical analysis of idle machine-worker times?

4. Let's get on board the time capsule - the team leader must be firm about performance levels. He or she should state at the outset what minimum level of performance will be acceptable. How team members will interact with each other should also be described. What measuring tools will be employed to gauge success? And what are our target completion dates?

5. Let's find out what's going on - keeping everyone in the loop about the project is indispensable. Clear communications at all times is vital. No one should withhold information. Accomplishments must be shared. Also, credit must be given to where it's due. Make sure everyone understands the meaning of "intellectual honesty."

Eliminate Deadwood

We said earlier that the purpose of a team is to filter good ideas from bad and to draw upon the experiences of others so that the learning curve for less experienced members is not steep. It can happen that one member will stick out like a sore thumb, be uncooperative, disruptive and be an irritant to other members. Non-performers are found everywhere. The team leader must immediately eliminate members who are draining the team's resources and taxing the patience of team members.

By eliminating the deadwoods, we are sending a clear message to the group about the values that are cherished and behavior that won't be tolerated at any cost.

A Peek into Business Process Re-engineering by Peter Peterka

Business process re-engineering (BPR) sounds esoteric at best, and maybe a little pretentious. Wouldn't it be simpler to say business process change?

Most people understand what a business process is but when you combine it with re-engineering, it suddenly sounds vague.

The ProSci-sponsored BPR Online Learning Center calls a business process "a set of activities that transform a set of inputs into a set of outputs (goods or services) for another person or process using people and tools."

It is simple. The way we interpret that is:

-there are many ways of doing business,
-when one of those ways does not work or is considered to be ineffective it has to be improved,
-certain elements are introduced to make it better ("inputs"),
-those elements translate into a better service of product,
-that product or service is supposed to serve another person (a customer, a supplier, a partner)

That's basic enough, but why do business processes have to be re-engineered?

It's All About the Customer (and Competition)

The philosophy behind business process re-engineering is to delight the customer. By delighting him, we get to keep him, turning him into a faithful disciple.

Competitors have a sneaky way of snatching customers away from us. It's not because this world is full of cunning and evil people, it's because we tend to sit on our bottoms and think that we've finally got it made. We've become lax.

Business process improvement, according to ProSci, is not be confused with business process re-engineering. Instead of improving on current processes, the re-engineering concept says that because the process is no longer viable, it has to be replaced, abandoned. There's a need to establish a clean slate, as the BPR Online Learning Center teaches us.

Business process re-engineering, just like the DMAIC in Six Sigma, presupposes a series of stages: stage 1 involves a definition of the project - its rationale, objectives and scope. Stage 2 covers the entire learning process wherein we obtain as much information as we can about our customers, employees, suppliers and competitors - including non-competitors and align that new information with technology.

Armed with this knowledge, the next stage - stage 3 - is to set up our mission. Others call it a vision of the future. This requires a new set of business processes. Once we've determined the desired goal of this transition, we move on to the next stage which calls for a plan of action that allows us to measure the gap between our company's present state and where we want it to go.

When we get to this stage, solutions logically follow.

If you're still wondering what distinguishes business process improvement from business process re-engineering, think of the starting point: are you starting from an existing process and want to improve on it, or do you want to start from scratch?

Thanks to Information Technology

Jump to globalization. We're ushering in new technologies and they're coming faster than we can learn them. There's also this whole new talk about customer relationship management (CRM) strategies. We're huffing and puffing and bursting at the seams. Businesses that have not adapted to global trends or introduced newer technologies into their operations will be clobbered by the competition. Today's companies cannot afford to sit back and watch while others struggle with changes in the industry.

Thanks to information technology and the creation of new business models, the world of e-commerce has given new meaning to the way we do business. As Hui-Liang Tsai puts it, "e-commerce is no longer a way to gain competitive advantage, it is a competitive imperative." (Information Technology and Business Process Re-engineering: New Perspectives and Strategies, Praeger Publishers, Connecticut, 2003). While companies are trying to keep up with technologies, customers are also changing. They are more demanding and are never satisfied. They fall out of love, and don't necessarily have to explain why.

Picture the speed with which information is transmitted with just a click of the mouse. It used to be that urgent documents had to be couriered by special messenger or faxed immediately; today, documents are electronically portable. Mr. Tsai says that this phenomenon alone is producing a new crop of workers - he calls them knowledge workers. We are seeing the transformation of industrial society into an information society.

Progress in information technology is only one of the numerous reasons why companies have embraced business process re-engineering. If organizations desperately want to succeed, first they need information - truckloads of it. Second, they need to know how to turn that information to their advantage. The practice of business process re-engineering can refine a lot of that information into digestible parts.

What's the Game Plan? by Peter Peterka

Browse through any management book these days and you'll be amazed at the number of concepts that have appeared in the last decade: SWOT analysis, business process re-engineering, CRM, competitive advantage, analysis tools, fix-it tools and measuring tools.

One frequently used (and overused) term is strategic planning. Look at any mid-size to large corporation, and we're sure there's at least one Vice President for Strategic Planning. If you really think about it, it would suffice to say "planning" because planning implies that there's some strategy involved. It would also suffice to say "strategizing" simply because it implies that planning is involved.

What makes for good planning in the context of change?

1. Don't just brainstorm with team members. Jot down ideas that are worth reviewing. Have you ever walked into a room and noticed that meeting attendees are verbalizing, trying to outsmart one another but no one seems to be jotting anything down? When ideas are tossed about, someone should be taking notes. At the end of the day, who is going to remember those ideas to which everyone said "aha!"

By putting discussions into paper, team members can decide at the next session what issues merit a repeat discussion.

2. Organize ideas by starting with the basics. Here's an example of how you can arrange your planning:

Question: What specific change do we want to implement in the customer service department? Answer: Include another shift to accommodate customers from Asia. This means we need employees to work from the hours of 9 pm to 5 am the next day. Question: How many more employees do we need? Answer: Let's start with four and see if we need to add to that number. Question: What languages are we looking at? Answer: Since China is our biggest market, we need Mandarin and Cantonese speakers. We probably also need people who are fluent in Hindi and Korean. Question: So how soon do we need to implement this midnight shift? Answer: In two months - to align it with our product launch in Shanghai. Question: How much will this cost in terms of manpower and facilities? Answer: Details will follow, but we're looking at a ballpark figure of $75,000 a year.

By breaking down discussions into smaller components, it is easier to identify direction and objectives that are realistic. Imagine a situation where team members say, "we need more customer service people" without explaining the how, why, when, where and who.

3. Once the "start-up" information is settled, think of the possible problems and obstacles you're likely to encounter together with potential solutions. Listing problems is the easy part. The harder task is jotting down possible solutions. Let's take the example above:

Potential problem # 1: We may be able to recruit people who speak these languages but they have zero experience in customer service:

Possible solutions: (a) recruit them anyway and then train them in customer service, (b) see if there are personnel in your China and India branches who can double up as customer reps (c) outsource the customer service midnight shift to a provider country or (d) ask suppliers and distributors if they can provide a solution.

Potential problem # 2: Management might disallow the $75K budget.

Possible solutions: (a) prepare arguments justifying the cost, (b) come up with actual and projected statistics on how many people from Asia are calling or e-mailing us weekly to ask about the product, (c) how much more sales can we expect if we beef up customer service to exclusively serve Asian customers, (d) do a comparison chart of competitors who already have a customer service department servicing Asia and are doing very well.

4. "Just do it." One reason why a group fails miserably at executing a plan is that there's an element of laziness or a waning of enthusiasm when the initial excitement wears off. Taking the same example above, one week has passed and the justification for adding a midnight shift to be sent to management hasn't been written. When the person assigned to do it is asked why, he says, "oh I found out that Mr. Jones is out of town for three weeks. So I haven't done it." What this person fails to understand is that even if Mr. Jones is away, he can get cracking with the arguments and could even send it by e-mail to Mr. Jones. Why wait? Just do it!

5. Assess your plan periodically. Circumstances can force a change of priorities, so looking at the plan from time to time will help you determine if changes need to be made.

You need a plan to work with. A sound plan is one that has foresight and alternatives in the event certain activities don't work out.

How Does Your Consultant Stack Up? by Peter Peterka

Even large businesses need help.

When a company is in dire need of change, it seeks help when internal resources are not considered sufficient. They explore the possibility of engaging consultants who can recommend ways to bring about desired outcomes.

The resolution to seek outside help is explained by current thinking that a consultant can take a more objective view of the problems plaguing the organization. Another reason is that companies lack the expertise required to implement changes. Business consultants with many years' experience on the field are also able to draw from past sessions spent in other companies that operate in a variety of industry sectors. The expertise of consultants even becomes more valuable when they have worked in other countries.

Of course there's a price to pay for good service. Some businesses are fortunate enough to find the right profile consultant the first time; others, however, go through a hit-and-miss process until they find the most suitable one.

Looking for a Needle in a Haystack

Just as there are an infinite number of bottled water brands on your supermarket shelf, there are as many business consultants in the market today. Most businesses prefer to hire a consultant who comes highly recommended. Word of mouth is probably still the most common way of finding one.

Logically, you'll want a consultant who is familiar with your industry and who has an impressive list of businesses that he has worked with. We'll venture to say that if it's specific changes you're implementing, you may want to consider a consultant who is knowledgeable about change management - not only with the concept and principles but also with the several tools used by the gurus.

Before exploring what you should be looking for, we'll tackle those situations you do not NOT want to be in:

* trainees do not take the consultant seriously because he has not convinced them of his abilities. This attitude can be attributed to the consultant's rusty communication skills. You want someone who can communicate, not just talk.

* your instincts tell you there's a delta in the price to product ratio. You've paid 50% down for the consultant's services. You're now in week 2 and you see no progress.

* "now you see him, now you don't" - it's no wonder he's been labeled a consultant "on high demand." It is unprofessional and unethical for a consultant who works solo to accept multiple assignments. A consultancy firm should assign a specific number of people to your company exclusively and this should be stipulated in the contract. A consultant who is running off in different directions defeats the change process mission.

* lack of materials - if a consultant does not produce and distribute materials - handouts, videos, manuals and worksheets - how will he provide adequate training and guidance?
Consultants with an excellent record of delivery and performance don't come easy. You get what you pay for. If there are compelling reasons for your company to embark on a change management program and if there is a pressing need to capture market share and lure customers back, then be prepared to pay the price.

Willing to pay the price however doesn't mean forsaking due diligence. What should you watch out for?

Engaging a Consultant: Checklist

Pay for a good consultant, but don't pay for these expensive mistakes:

* Request credentials and bio-sheets of the consultant's staff members who will be assigned to your company; * Have the consultant or his firm prepare a detailed costing sheet with time frames and results that will be measured at the end of the consultancy period. Ask for a list of expenses that will be incurred and justification for these expenses; * Require a full report or intermittent reports for each phase of the project; * Discuss and negotiate fees for potential repeat business (if you think another department is on schedule for changes, ask the consultant if he would charge a reduced fee for taking on another department); * Specify the number of "one-on-one" meetings with the consultant to thoroughly discuss progress of the project; * Finalize, in advance, what outcomes are expected and when they will be delivered; * If the consultant gives you the option to "kill" the project at midstream (you're dissatisfied, there are budget constraints, a merger is pending) negotiate the kill fee.

Window Cleaning Forums by Peter Fogwill

Window cleaning forums are very popular on the Internet these days, and they are a very useful place for finding out anything you need to know about window cleaning.

Some forums specialise in Reach and Wash window cleaning, while others dedicate boards for traditional window cleaning and reach and wash window cleaning. When the traditional window cleaner decides that because of health and safety guidelines that it is time to change over to reach and wash type, then where better to gather all the information he needs. The window cleaning forums are full of newbies desperate to learn all they can before deciding which equipment they need and where to buy the best value for money window cleaning systems.

There is also Lot's of advice for the people who fancy putting the system together themselves, from making up a brush to installing a water tank in their van. Information can also be found about the Lightest, cheapest, and the best value for money poles on the market. Dedicated FAQ boards are usually featured on the most popular forums where window cleaners can browse for information at their leisure. Last but not least is the second hand systems and equipment where you can buy a van already fitted with a full reach and wash system, right down to a simple connector to join your pole hose to your hose reel.

Registration is usually the only requirement before you can begin posting. Registering is not normally necessary for browsing previous posts.

The following examples of questions asked on one of the most popular forums are as follows....

Opening up a pole.... Can anyone tell me what section of the water fed pole you open first? I always start with the top ones but noticed that they flexed quite alarmingly. Would it be better to lift up the sections lower down the pole first? Haven't tried it yet hence my query.

Waste... I have just bought myself a Merlin system having used DI only since starting water fed pole in August. Only problem is my garden is flooded out at the moment with the waste water coming out. Any ideas where I could put it. Also is it normal to take ages to fill my van tank?

Help with water fed pole....Hi, I wonder if anyone can help? I am just starting out with water fed pole and I am getting streaks even on my own windows. Any advice would be appreciated?

These questions and many more are answered every day on the window cleaning forums.

Affiliate Marketing - The Fastest Way To Build A Recurring Internet Business by Sherman Choo

If you stumbled across this article, no doubt you would have heard the term affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is a very lucrative business opportunity where we act act a broker between a product and client. There are brokers in the offline world as well and these jobs include, real estate brokes, ship brokes, oil brokers etc.

On the internet, we just coin in as affiliates. While affiliates are not paid a salary, they are treated as business partners, so you can expect to make anywhere from 50% commission and up.

Having said that, there are lowly paid affiliates that don't make more then $10 a month to others that earn 5 - 6 figures a month. That's because affiliate marketing is real business which we need to devote some time to learn the skills of the trade. But once the base is build on concrete foundation, you can expect to make money at the push of a button.

There are a few aspects to affiliate marketing. These include, "List building, Email Marketing, Niche Selection, Traffic Generation, Business Automation, Keyword Research". Like a well oiled machine, everything needs to work well in order for the affiliate business owner to earn a full time income. Its also important to understand the market psychology so as to provide the products that solve the markets needs.

Affiliate marketing is the quickest way to earn a full time income without too much cost and expenses which can eat ones profits. For a beginner, affiliate marketing takes time to learn and master. But its 100% a skill worth learning, because it pays you for so long as the internet exists...

All the best to internet business!

Start Today - Make Money Online From Home by Paul Jesse

Have you noticed how common it is in today's online business world to make money online? Yes, many people are making money from home online and you can also!

Affiliate programs offers one of the best ways to make money online from home. An affiliate program is a program where you are able to earn money by marketing and selling someone else's service or product.

Be careful when selecting a affiiate program to join. Many are there to work with you and help you succeed while there are those that will simply take your money. Do a thorough investigation. You should pick a programs that's been around for a while that pays at least 50% commission per sale to it's affiliates.

You don't need a website but having one is helpful. There are many places on the internet that offers free websites, low cost domain names and hosting. Getting set up with your site is the easy part. Everyone with an online business would be making tons of money if only having a website was the end of the story. Once setup you have to send traffic to your site. The traffic needs to be targeted to your market and once at your site you need to convert the traffic into willing buyers.

For immediate traffic the quickest way is by paying for traffic or pay-per-click. You only pay when someone visits your website and click on the advertisement. For more information on pay per click do a search for "pay-per-click advertising".

Another proven strategy of getting website traffic is through writing articles or article marketing. Article marketing is a form of marketing where you write 400 - 500 keyword driven articles related to your business. Once written and submitted to article directories these articles are freely available for distribution and publication in the marketplace. Each article contains a 'bio box' which include references about the author and you can place a link back to you website.

A more long term approach to traffic generation is through SEO or search engine optimization. Search engine optimization improves the quality and volume of website traffic from the search engines through search results using targeted keywords. This is some thing you may want to consider after you gain some experience in marketing your website.

There you have just three of the many ways to get traffic to your website, there are many more. But for immediate traffic pay-per-click and article marketing are probably the best.

You can make money on the internet with no previous experience or knowledge, whether you're young or old. No matter who you are, you can work at home and you can start today. You have everything to gain and nothing to lose. Start making money from home online today!

My name is Prof. Keshap. I am an Associate Professor to MBA/PGPM.I am the trainer, mentor and motivator of Mrs. India and over 1000 students settled in different countries.
I respect law as without law the life in the society is nothing but a wild living where the rule of the "might is right" applies. But law wants us to behave like human beings and not like animals. Human beings respect human beings, protect earth, environment and everything mother NATURE has given.
How the law operates. Supposing we - say Jack and Jill (from our old childhood poems)- are two people living in an area where there is no civilization, no development, no community. Obviously, no rules, no law too. We two start living there. We do what we like. Eat, drink, sing, cry, quarrel and make merry. But after some time, we get fed up from this unbridled freedom of action. We both sit together and make some rules. I (Jack) request Jill, "please don't sing while I am sleeping." Jill stubbornly says, "why". I convince him that this creates nuisance for me. I assure him saying, "Jill I will not make noise when you sleep. You will enjoy the sleep well and after the sleep you will feel mentally and physically recharged." Jill agrees. This is the first law of our life. As civilizations developed, population increased and laws also became complicated for the purpose of real life enjoyment. Family rules, community rules, social rules, local laws, state laws, national laws and international law came into existence to govern our lives and make our living better. Law has two ingredients: One is the spirit of law known to the makers of law and interpreters of law and another is the spirit of law known to the operating mechanism of law. So, law is a set of rules, governing individuals and their lives, states and countries equally. All these laws prevail in the society so that an individual may live peacefully and peaceably so that he and his neighbor may enjoy full living.
Now you know law is the mechanism that provides safe and sound environment so that good ethical marketing and economic forces may flourish and individuals may develop to the fullest extent of their intellectual potential. There is only one superiority in the world and that is the "superiority of the intellect". Not only this law also protects humanity at large and Nature in its entirety for all the generations to come.
Good ethical marketing and economics is largely responsible for the welfare and development of human beings and protection of Earth, environment and everything relating to mother NATURE. I hope the concept of law is clear and you agree.
For a human being, it is very important to express his feelings, emotions and sentiments for fullest development of mind. Suppression of free and frank feelings, emotions and sentiments by the human beings as is prevalent in closed societies causes very dangerous mental blocks. Human beings wreathe under this mental suppression.
Google the search engine is bringing the human beings of different cultures of the world closer mentally. Thereby, reducing the mental sickness among the human beings. Is there any other mechanism that can do this Herculean Task?
In April of 2007 "Get Google Ads Free" was launched, and the effect was nothing less than equal to "the shot heard around the world!"
Within just weeks people everywhere were talking about it and other top-notch online Marketers were scurrying to sell it as an affiliate for the company.
But here's a little insight that 99.9% of everyone the world over doesn't know.
The product's greatest endorser is none other than Google itself!
That's right. As shocking as it may seem, Google has no problem with the course that reveals how anyone can get ads on their search engine for free!
Now, at this I know you must be curious as to how such a thing is possible, as Google makes its money from the sale of both AdWords (PPCs) and AdSense (where webmasters allow Google to show their ads on their pages).
One might think that any information that revealed how an advertiser could get their AdWords pay-per-clicks FREE would be damaging to Google, and therefore Google would not want anyone finding out about it, right?
WRONG! It seems that the secret system developed by the retired native NewYork doctor contains an interesting "twist" that while allowing advertisers to eliminate their AdWords costs, it does not reduce a single dollar in AdWords revenue for Google.
In fact, just the opposite!
I cannot give anyone away the secret here because that's why it's for sale in the first place.
But I can tell you that with the application of what's inside "Get Google Ads Free"that: -Google loses No money -Google actually can make even more MONEY! -Advertisers gain an instant almost unfair advantage over anyone not knowing what's inside "Get Google Ads Free!" -Advertisers can now afford to outbid their competition! -Advertisers are not at risk any longer as their advertising budgets no longer matter!
Wow! And this is just the beginning! Now , Where's the definitive PROOF that Google endorses the amazing system shown in "Get Google Ads Free?"
I asked this question to company spokesman and Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Mr. Todd Coutrin, to which he responded
" We started our launch like we always do with any product online, using Google Adwords to offer our Product.
" We used keywords that contained the word 'free' so we anticipated the usual HOLD these keywords usually cause any campaign using them to experience.
" But when our campaign was paused by Google for a tad more time than what what we regularly anticipated, then we got concerned.
" I actually placed a call directly to Google and spoke at length with customer services rep who said she'd check into what was happening.
"She returned my call 16 hours later and informed me that due to the specific nature of the Product in question (i.e., the ebook "Get Google Ads Free!") their team at Google secured the product, read it all the way trough, and then realizing it would NOT hurt their revenue but actually increase it, they immediately un-paused and resumed our ads."
Amazing! They actually got what amounts to a Signed Certificate of APPROVAL from Google itself.
Therefore, anyone who questions the truth or legality concerning "Get Google Ads Free!" need not fret at all.
Yet, the usual "naysayers" seemed to ignore the obvious fact that if Google had a problem with "Get Google Ads Free!" then we all will not be seeing all the PPC ads at Google each time we type the keywords and phrases:
- free ads - free advertising - "Get Google Ads Free" - Free PPC - Free AdWords
And so forth!
Yet, there are many very stubborn, even foolish, among us.........  The " Crybaby Syndrome<
To be fair, I must also inform you of those who seem to be out to get the company for sharing their amazing secret with the world.
I heard, in what seems nothing more than a ploy to get attention, an online firm operated by two "wanna-be" law students have a Blog that talks the usual trash about the Product.
The Blog's owner, they say Mr. Rob Scott, talks a big game claiming the secret system to be nothing short of a scam! He even recklessly throws around the potentially libelous phrase ".con" (Oops, I meant.com )" as an attempt at childish humor in order to bash the firm's name.
What's shocking is that this individual is actually a student of law (at least that's what he claims) so one would think that he should perhaps check out the facts before proceeding further with such careless remarks.
After all, he admits severally that he "never even ordered the ebook" . So how could he be truly know one way or the other if it was a valid system- not to mention it is assumed he's at least reasonably intelligent since (according to him) he got into law school, that he would be able to see for himself the firm's Affiliates' ads all over Google, and therefore, reason that Google itself is perhaps the firm's chief supporter.
But stubbornness abounds, I suppose.
Ironically, the said Mr. Rob says that the only reason he attacks the firm is because "it's a no brainer that this must be a scam," and he got "tired of seeing all those Adsense ads on his page that people clicking on" (which by the way only stood to make him lots of MONEY)--- yet he accepts donations on his site as a poor, struggling law student in need of paying rather than legitimately earn an income from AdSense with an APPROVED Product.
Sadly, the said Rob actually censors most of his Blog so that others who wish to post POSITIVES concerning "Get Google Ads Free! Can't even do so. (But what would you expect from a "wanna-be" lawyer?)
He even posts what appears to be an actual response by the firm's lawyer, but which is perhaps nothing more than his own posts disguised and designed to make him look better (as anyone can see that the dialogue appears "manufactured" instead of genuine).
What some people will do to project themselves as "Saviour to the rest of us and "The People's Advocate." How ridiculous indeed!.
Despite the "crybaby" from across the pond, Rob has failed miserably to put even a dent in the firm's sales!
Plus, traffic is on the rise shooting from an average of 14000 visitors daily to now well above 20,000 visitors daily ( an increase) of 42% in daily traffic alone!--Keep up the good work, Rob!!!)

The Win-Win of Joint Ventures by Christian Fea

Forming a partnership with another company can be a great marketing injection into the revenues of your business. By combining your strengths, you will become a greater force in your industry. However, making it a win-win situation does require careful consideration.

Creating the joint venture groundwork

First you will have to know your company, inside and out. That means that you have a clear understanding of your own vision, and you also know how the public receives you. Once you have determined these elements, it will be the rock on which you are founded. When searching for the right partner, your vision cannot be compromised - and if that means moving onto the next candidate, then that is the only option in a win-win joint venture.

Analyzing prospective partners

Next, do your homework to find a company that is genuinely interested in a joint venture. If you are a small business, you can look for other small business to team up with - allowing you to become a competitor of a larger company. Both of you will win in this situation. However, small and large companies should both be open to a joint venture together, as this too could be a benefit to both.

Consider the separation

Once you have found the company which compliments yours, plan your divorce. That's right, plan your divorce. This is a business tactic used by many, where in forming a united front, you carefully consider everything and anything that could go wrong. You cover all of your bases up front. This ensures confidence in each entity and gives you both a clear future because you have removed the fear of the worst case scenario.

Open the lines of communication

Now that you have formed your marriage/joint venture remember that relationship will require quality communication. Set up weekly conferences to monitor progress as a whole, as well as check in on how each entity is feeling about the partnership.
Chances are, as with any relationship, there will be issues. Staying on top of any problems is crucial. These issues can grow into such a large problem that they ultimately destroy the joint venture unnecessarily. Communicate on a regular basis. The agenda should include the issues in your planned divorce to make sure you are still in agreement.

Create the business plan

Now form your business plan. Once you have known each other's strengths and weaknesses and have shared ideas and compromises, make a plan together. Agree upon suppliers, your structure, and allocations. Be sure to do this together.
If in completing any of the steps you run into a multitude of conflicts, then it may be time to move on and find another partner. Negotiate on the things that are less crucial to fulfilling your own vision. If you stay grounded in the fundamentals, the company you joint venture with will form a win-win situation.
